New TV pilot for Johnny

Johnny Vegas has recorded a pilot show for Channel 4 in which he performs a series of bizarre tasks.

The show could mark a comeback for Chris Evans' production company UMTV, which is making The Four Parts of Johnny Vegas after a run of flops including The Terry and Gaby Show for Five.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes offer odds on the challenges, such as 5-1 on him managing to jump over actor Ray Winstone on a mini-Chopper motorbike, the Mirror reports.

Any winnings go behind a bar for the studio audience.

In another strand of the show, Vegas performs comedy sketches with animals.

Channel 4 is still deciding whether to commission the show, but a UMTV source told the newspaper: "Chris and Johnny are secretly confident it will be a big hit."
