BBC4 gets the Horne

Radio classic transfers to TV

Classic radio comedy Round The Horne is coming to TV.

Hot on the heels of its revival as a hit West End show, digital channel BBC 4 is to recreate the Sixties show for TV.

Writer Brian Cooke, who worked alongside Barry Took on the original series after Marty Feldman left for America, is providing the script for the new show.

He is also behind the revival currently playing to sell-out houses at The Venue in London.

The BBC4 show will be recorded at the same venue, on April 25. The cast who will take the parts of Kenneth Horne, Kenneth Williams, Betty Marsden, Hugh Paddick and announcer Douglas Smith has yet to be confirmed.

Free tickets to the recording are available from the BBC ticket unit.
