C4 plans a British South Park

Channel 4 is planning an British version of South Park, set in a bleak area of South London

The 13-part animated series Streatham Hill will revolve around hree teenage schoolgirls - one of them pregnant - at the "world's worst school".

It will feature the voices of Smack the Pony's Doon Mackichan, ventriloquist Nina Conti (pictured) and former Goodie Graeme Garden.

Have I Got News For You producers Hat Trick have started work on the show, run by The Office's executive producer, Anil Gupta.
