All the names change for US version

Further details have emerged of the American cast of The Office.

As Chortle exclusively revealed this week, the boss will be played by The Daily Show's Steve Carrel.

But the character won't be called David Brent - but renamed Michael Scott.

All the other characters names have been changed, too, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Sidekick Gareth becomes Dwight, and will be played by Rainn Wilson, above, who is currently appearing in Six Feet Under as Arthur Mann.

Likeable Everyman Tim will renamed Jim, and played by unknown actor John Kasinski, right.

And put-upon receptionist Dawn becomes Pam, and will be played by Jenna Fischer, who had a small role in the Ben Affleck-Jennifer Lopez turkey Gigli.
