Brand new chat show

Jo shoots pilot at comedy festival

Jo Brand is to front her own chat show.

The comic is shooting a pilot episode at the Brighton Comedy Festival.

And if it's a success, the show will turned into a series to be aired on the Paramount Comedy Channel next year.

The channel has previously not commissioned original work, outside of the short 'bumpers' that help fill ad breaks.

This month it also made 12 five-minute shorts showing how comics would spend £100 in Brighton. The shows, fronted by Adam Hills, again coincide with the city's comedy festival, sponsored by Paramount.

The new programmes have been executive produced by Addison Cresswell, head of the Off The Kerb agency that represents both Brand and Hills.

Jo Brand's new DVD, Barely Live, is released next month. Click here to pre-order from Amazon and save £5.
