My pansy pain

Billy tells of tattoo agony

Billy Connolly has had pansies tattooed across both feet.

The comic will reveal the design on Michael Parkinson's BBC1 chat show tonight.

He claims he was inspired to have have it done after seeing a Glaswegian with only half an arm who had a tattoo on it reading "to be continued".

He said: "I didn't want Hell's Angel skulls with daggers through them. I wanted a pansy or a daffodil. It was painful to the point of tears."

Connolly appears on the show - which first made his name in the Seventies - with wife Pamela Stephenson, who has just written a second book about him, Bravemouth.
