Put big show on

Kay's tour to be aired on C4

Channel 4 is to broadcast Peter Kay's stand-up show later this year.

The last night on his 180-date Mum Wants A Bungalow tour was recorded - and will be aired on an undisclosed date, industry journal Broadcast reports.

The sold-out gig, on July 1, was at Manchester's MEN Arena - where he used to work as a steward.

At the time, Kay said: "What a way to end the tour, back at the Manchester Arena where I was working when I very first started doing stand-up. I worked as a steward there when it very first opened with Torvill and Dean in 1996."

Kay is also releasing a live video and DVD in time for Christmas.

Live At The Bolton Albert Halls is scheduled for release on November 17, and promises additional behind-the scenes footage on DVD.

Meanwhile, Kay is currently working on the Phoenix Nights spin-off, Max and Paddy, for Channel 4.
