Double act ditch C4 for BBC3

BBC has poached double act Adam and Joe for a new series about Asian culture.

The duo fly out to Japan next month to start work on Asian Invasion for BBC3.

Like their Channel 4 shows, it will be based in an apartment - but this time a high-tech one, from which they will present a weekly round-up of new movies, comics and video games from Tokyo.

Pop culture fan Jonathan Ross will be executive producer.

It is the pair's first series for the corporation after they were wooed by BBC3 controller Stuart Murphy. They have previously hosted other shows on BBC Choice.

Murphy told MediaGuardian: "I want Asian Invasion to be the definitive art and culture series on Japan. Adam and Joe feel really right for the channel and I hope this is the first of many collaborations."

Adam Buxton and Joe Cornish were products of Channel 4. They got their screen break through the channel's Takeover TV scheme in 1995, and went on to make four series of late-night shows.
