BBC7 to have 7hrs of comedy a day

The BBC's new digital radio station is promising seven hours of comedy a day.

BBC 7, which is due to be launched 'within months', will make extensive use of the corporation's vast archives.

The speech-based station, formerly known as Network Z, will complete the corporation's line-up of digital radio stations.,

It will also offer drama and children's programming

Radio 4 controller Helen Boaden said: "We believe BBC 7 will bring a whole new audience to speech radio with the wonderful programmes the rest of us already value so much."
