Remembering Joan

Plaque unveiled to Carry On star

Barbara Windsor has unveiled a plaque to her Carry On co-star Joan Sims.

The Comic Heritage honour was unveiled on Sunday at her former home in London's Kensington.

Eric Sykes and John Inman were among those expected at the ceremony.

Sims, who appeared in 24 Carry On films, died in June 2001 at the age of 71.

At the time, Windsor said: "To me she was the last of the great Carry Ons. Her talent was wonderful, she could do any accent, dialect, she could dance, sing, play dowdy and glam. We laughed all the time. I will sorely miss her."
