Vegas to host Bullseye return?

Naff gameshow Bullseye is set to be revived - with Johnny Vegas as host.

A new series will reportedly be recorded in Liverpool in the spring, and producers have their eye on the newlywed comic as quizmaster.

The show first ran between 1980 and 1994, making a cult hero of quizmaster Jim Bowen.

An unnmaed TV insider told the Daily Star: "There were rumours that Graham Norton would be in charge, but they want Johnny Vegas to take the oche.

"It's a darts game after all and he's got that pub touch - and the pub paunch.

"On top of that he's one of the funniest men on TV."

Vegas recently hosted a one-off revival of kids' quizshow Runaround for the BBC's Sports Relief telethon.

Bowen took the news that the show would be back without him in good grace.

"I wish him well. I certainly would have been up for it, but then it did set TV back 25 years!"

Programme-makers Carlton would not confirm Bullseye's return.
