New Pennis menace

Irritant Dennis plans comeback

Spoof interviewer Dennis Pennis is to be resurrected, four years after he was killed off.

But this time creator Paul Kaye wants him to have matured into a wiser svengali character.

Pennis came prominence on The Sunday Show, gatecrashing movie premiers to ask stars unflinchingly blunt questions.

But Kaye moved onto other things, including a straight acting role in BBC1 drama Two Thousands Acres of Sky opposite Michelle Collins.

Kaye, 36, told Ananova that the new Pennis would be more likely to be controlling a small team of helpers: "He's done his time in the field, now he will have his boys to do his work for him - a modern day Fagin.

"I'm bringing Dennis back but with a completely different personality. He will be a cross between Andy Warhol and Rasputin - more of a puppet master working behind the scenes."

"The show is at the early stages but it will be a combination of reality and comedy drama."
