Ben's back

Elton to play West End fundraiser

Ben Elton is to return to the stage at a comedy fundraiser for single-parent families.

The former stand-up turned novelist and writer of West End musicals will join the stars of The Fast Show and Goodness Gracious Me for The Magic Of Comedy benefit in London's West End next month.

Others appearing include Stephen Fry, Neil Pearson, Ulrika Jonsson, Richard Wilson, Neil Morrisey and Dead Ringers star Jon Culshaw.

More big comedy names are expected to be confirmed nearer the time.

Tickets for the show at the Palace Theatre (normally home to Les Miserables) are priced from £15 to £30. There are also a number of VIP tickets for £100 which include admission to the after-show party.

Ticket lines are not yet open, but you can email celia@oneparentfamilies.org.uk.

Proceeds from the event go to the Magic Million Appeal, which aims to raise £1million to help Britain's poorest families out of poverty.
