Vegas to host awards preview

Johnny Vegas is to host an hour-long preview of the British Comedy Awards.

The comic, the face of ITV Digital alongside a woollen monkey puppet, will front the ITV2 show from 9.25pm on Saturday.

He will run through the list of nominees, interview celebrities and recall some of the highlights of past shows in Countdown to the British Comedy Awards

The main awards programme, hosted by Jonathan Ross, will air live on ITV1 on December 16.

Countdown to the British Comedy Awards will be made by Michael Hurll Television, which is also producing the awards ceremony as well as a behind-the-scenes show, The Comedy Awards Big Bash, for Sky One.
