Tom Allen joins Classic FM
Looking at the genre's most outrageous characters
Tom Allen is to host a new three-part series on Classic FM this weekend.
Totally Outrageous aims to celebrating the more colourful personalities of the classical music world, who were as dramatic offstage as the music they created or performed.
The comic said: ‘Classical music has everything: glamour, passion, genius - and people behaving absolutely appallingly.
‘I’m looking forward to joining Classic FM - a station I love listening to - and celebrating the divas, scandals and magnificent mischief-makers of the classical world. Frankly, I feel among friends.’
Joseph Zubier, Classic FM’s managing editor, said Allen would ‘bring his trademark warmth and brilliant sense of fun’ to the series. ‘Listeners are in for a treat - and possibly the odd tantrum,’ he added.
The programmes will be available on Classic FM and its Global Player app on April 3, 4 and 5 at 9pm,
