Here's a preview of an exhibition of intimate comedy photographs

A new exhibition of intimate pictures of comedians on and off stage has opened in Central London today.

They are the work of Steve Best, himself as stand-up as well as a photographer, and come from his planned third book Comedians Back To Front, which would follows Joke Face and Comedy Snapshot.

He says his years on the comedy circuit help him build trust with the funny people he photographs, with exclusive access enabling him to get his evocative slots.

His show – including the image of Lee Mack above – is on at the Observatory Photography Gallery in Russell Square until the end of June next year. Admission is free, and limited edition prints are available to buy:
