Rosco McClelland wins NZ comedy award
Shares best international act prize with Australia's Elouise Eftos
Scotland’s Rosco McClelland has been named best international act at the New Zealand Comedy Festival.
The comic shared the award with Elouise Eftos for her show Australia's First Attractive Comedian.
McClelland’a accolade comes two months after he won the Sir Billy Connolly ‘Spirit of Glasgow’ Award at the city's comedy festival.
Angella Dravid won the Fred Award for Best Show, and Hoani Hotene won the Billy T Award for up-and-coming New Zealand comedian.
Dravid, who was up against Abby Howells and Melanie Bracewell for the prize, is only the third woman to have won the Fred Award after Jan Maree and Rose Matafeo.
Johanna Cosgrove won the festival director’s choice award, and Sean Collier, Mo Munn and Liv Ward shared the best newcomer honours.
