Mike Birbiglia returns to London
The New One plays in June
American comedian Mike Birbiglia is to return to London with his latest stand-up show, The New One.
But although four dates were initially announced by his UK publicists – they later said he would be performing just one.
The comic, who has appeared in Orange is the New Black, Inside Amy Schumer and Trainwreck, will be at The Leicester Square Theatre for June 8 only. Tickets are available here.
His show is about fatherhood: when it's the right time to settle down and have children. He also tells the story of happened when he checked out Amsterdam's red light district and returns to the subject of his sleepwalking.
He premiered the show at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal last summer. Here is our review of the show, in which we concluded: 'When it comes to being a comic raconteur, Birbiglia's the daddy.'
His last tour, Thank God For Jokes, ran for a 100-city US tour as well as an off-Broadway residency at the Lynn Redgrave Theater, and was filmed for Netflix.
