Cariad Lloyd undergoes emergency hernia surgery
Comic praises NHS staff
Cariad Lloyd has undergone emergency surgery after suffering a hernia while on holiday in Cornwall.
The comedian and podcaster took to social media to praise staff at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, as she posted a photo of herself on the ward.
On Instagram, she wrote: ‘Some tourists come to Cornwall for the worlds greatest coastline and beaches, or the incredible seafood, but I can now also recommend the incredible service and staff at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. If you have an emergency hernia, it’s a really great place to stop and have an operation before heading back to the seashore.
‘Genuine thanks for the NHS, the kindness of its staff and its very existence. Jean, my recovery nurse I’m sorry I tried to explain the news that Taylor Swift had a new album whilst coming off anaesthetic. I don’t think I did it justice.’
Fellow comics were quick to pass on their good wishes with Sarah Millican writing: ‘ Oh no. Sending you healing hugs xxx’ and Rosisin Country adding: ‘Oh hope you are feeling better my love’
