Chris and Rosie Ramsey pilot Saturday Night Takeaway spin-off

Ring My Bell could become a standalone show

Chris and Rosie Ramsey have piloted a spin-off from Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

The podcasting couple this weekend taped a try-out episode of Ring My Bell, based on the segment in the hit ITV1 show which rigs up a doorbell camera somewhere in the UK and invites viewers to identify it and arrive there with a certain item.

Without a live broadcast, producers of the pilot instead sent messages to local WhatsApp groups to find a doorstep contestant, who was partnered in a studio.

TVZone reports that games included guessing what happened next in footage captured by a doorbell camera and knocking at random doors in the street to ask questions.

Saturday Night Takeaway is to go on an indefinite hiatus after the current 20th series ends with Girls Aloud set to reunite for the final show on April 13.

Ant McPartlin said they were pausing the show to give him and Dec Donnelly, both 48, a break. He said: ‘We need to spend some time with our family. We've both got children that we need to spend time with for a little bit.’ He added the pair also had ‘lots of ideas’ they wanted to pursue next.

Here’s one of the most memorable  Ring My Bell segments from Saturday Night Takeaway:
