Chris Ramsey is a South Shields-born comedian who began his career in comedy in 2007 and the following year he made the final of the Chortle Student Comedy Award. He was a member of the Comedy Zone showcase at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe and his first solo show, Aggrophobic, came the following year.. His 2011 show, Offermation, was nominated for an Edinburgh Comedy Award and was later recorded for BBC Radio 4. From October 2012 to December 2013, he starred as Jack Pearson in the BBC Two sitcom Hebburn.

In 2014, Ramsey appeared on Live At Te Apollo for the first time. He co-presented I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp on ITV2 in 2016. In 2017, he began presenting The Chris Ramsey Show on Comedy Central.

Ramsey competed in the 17th series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2019, finishing in fourth place with his partner Karen Hauer.

He also co-hosts the successful podcast Shagged Married Annoyed with his wife, Rosie.

Chris Ramsey hosts a Channel 4 Christmas series

(Or is it a glorified Sainsbury's ad?)

Chris Ramsey is hosting an alternative Christmas guide for Channel 4, under a commercial tie-in with Sainsbury’s.

The three episodes revolve around throwing a party with minimal effort, with tips on the likes of prepping canapés to decorating the house.

Full episodes will be available on YouTube from December 1 and on Channel 4 from December 15 with clips going up on Channel 4’s Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

Stephen Parnell, digital commissioning executive for Channel 4 said: ‘Chris Ramsey’s Alternative Guide to Christmas answers the age-old question: "What if a normal(ish) bloke hosted a Christmas lifestyle show?"

‘With Chris Ramsey leading the festivities, we’re proving that anyone can channel their inner host this season. Whether you’re inviting friends, colleagues, or even the cast of your local panto, you can throw an unforgettable Christmas party - no expertise required. The series is made by Birmingham-based Acclaimed Content. were executive producer Anton Inwood,  said: ‘With Chris Ramsey at the helm and a world-class creative team behind the scenes, this Christmas series demonstrates what a small independent company with big ambitions can achieve.’
