Guardian gets into comedy

Newspaper's new podcasts

The Guardian is to produce its own comedy programming, fronted by Lucy Porter.

The newspaper’s website is to host a new series of podcasts called Many Questions, a light-hearted version of Any Questions?

Porter acts as host, and a pilot episode featured Sarah Kendall, Glenn Wool, Matt Kirshen and Arnab Chanda as panellists answering the audience’s questions.

The first of five shows proper will be recorded at the Soho Theatre at 7pm this Sunday.

The paper will be hoping to emulate some of the success of Ricky Gervais’s record-breaking podcasts, which its Guardian Unlimited site hosted before it became a paid-for broadcast.

For free tickets, and to hear the pilot episode, visit the website.
