Recorded just a week before his death in 1993, Les Dawson opened up to Dr Anthony Clare in his Radio 4 interview show In The Psychiatrist's Chair, newly re-available thanks to the glory that is Radio 4 Extra.

At the time, Clare said Les was ‘in good humour and talked, joked, clowned and recalled memories of his life with an energy and gusto that was infectious’ and called him 'a funny, generous, wise and happy man’.

Global Pillage

This is a new comedy panel show podcast all about local 'idiom, culture, customs and norms'. Two teams of comedians take on he hive mind of the audience to figure out, for example, what the Japanese mean when they accuse someone of ‘having a cat on their head’?

Hosted by Deborah Frances-White, the latest show features Australian Felicity Ward, Englishman Gabriel Ebulue, Romanian Radu Isac and Scot Avery Edison. The other six episodes also available include the likes of Sara Pascoe, Nish Kumar and Sofie Hagen, too

A Night To Restore Sanity

In July, comic Tiernan Douieb staged a charity gig in aid of Help Refugees  – and all the acts involved allowed their sets to be recorded for the charity, too. It’s now available via Bandcamp on a ‘pay what you want’ basis – though don’t be a prick, it’s for some very desperate people.

The line-up included Andy Zaltzman, Nish Kumar, Phill Jupitus, Pippa Evans, Mitch Benn, Jonny And The Baptists, Andrew O’Neill and tons more. It’s available on Bandcamp here.

BBC Asian Network Comedy

For the fourth year the digital radio station returned to Edinburgh to host a night of top Asian stand-ups, with this 40-minute show featuring sets from Tommy Sandhu, Rahul Kohli, Sindhu Vee, Bilal Zafar, Mawaan Rizwan and Nazeem Hussain
