New Channel 4 comedy starring Lara Ricote and Samuel Bottomley

Channel 4 has released the trailer for Break Clause – its new comedy starring Lara Ricote and Samuel Bottomley as a former couple who have to live in the same flat as they cannot break the tenancy agreement.

The broadcaster has also announced that the show will launch on Channel 4 on Thursday October 1 at 10pm. All episodes will be available to stream from that date.

The cast also includes comedians John Thomson, Jessica Knappett and Catherine Cohen, as well as Charly Clive – known for her stage show and BBC Three pilot Britney and for co-starring with Steve Carell in Rooster– Our Flag Means Death star Nathan Foad,  and Hammed Animashaun and Jack Shep, both cast members on Saturday Night Live UK.

The cast is completed by Lucy Black, Michael Workéyè, Assa Kanouté, Tamika Bennett, Jack James Ryan and Lucas Jone.

Break Clause has been written and created by Jess Bray, who worked on The Outlaws, and directed by Alice Snedden from Starstruck.

The series started as a Comedy Blap, the strand that has previously helped launch shows including We Are Lady Parts and Stath Lets Flats.
