Coexistence My Ass!
Trailer for a documentary about comedian Noam Shuster Eliassi playing to Israeli and Palestinian audiences
Here's a tailer for Coexistence My Ass!, a documentary about Israeli activist-comedian Noam Shuster Eliassi.
Raised in a bilingual Israeli-Palestinian village — the only intentionally integrated community in the country — Noam grows disillusioned with traditional peace activism.
She pivots to stand-up and quickly attracts attention across the Middle East. But the film shows that as her star rises, everything around her falls apart.
Producers say: 'With biting satire, Noam pushes her audiences to face difficult truths that aren't always funny but do remind us that another reality is possible.'
The film opens in selected cinemas in the US today and was screened at the Folkestone Documentary Festival at the weekend.
It will be screened at the Cork International Film Festival next month, The Garden Cinema in central London on November 24 and the Curzon Bloomsbury and Bertha DocHouse, also in the capital, the following day. It also airs at the Leeds Palestinian Film Festival on November 28.
Lebanese-Canadian director Amber Fares will be conduction a Q&A at the screenings.
The film won a special award for freedom of expression at Sundance 2025.
