Too Much trailer

New Netflix romcom from Lena Dunham with a starry cast

Here’s the trailer for new Netflix romcom Too Much– written by Lena Dunham and starring Megan Stalter and Flowers and White Lotus star  Will Sharpe.

It has been released as the streamer announced five more guest stars joining the cast: Andrew Scott, Jennifer Saunders, Kit Harington, Rita Ora and Jessica Alba.

They join a previously announced line-up that includes  Richard E. Grant, Leo Reich, Rita Wilson, Naomi Watts, Rhea Perlman, Emily Ratajkowski, Stephen Fry and Adwoa Aboah

Stalter plays Jessica, a New York workaholic in her mid-thirties, reeling from a broken relationship that she thought would last forever and slowly isolating everyone she knows.

The solution is to take a job in London, where she plans to live a life of solitude – until she forges a connection with Felix (Sharpe), despite him being ‘a walking series of red flags’.

Girls creator Dunham came up with the idea for Too Much with her British musician husband Luis Felber, and also directs the series. Felber’s band, Attawalpa, provides the music. It is being produced by Working Title Television, the company behind   Love Actually, and Dunham’s production company Good Thing Going.

Dunham  moved to the UK several years ago, posting on Instagram as long ago as 2021: ‘I’ve been in London long enough that I feel like I should have become the queen of high tea, the princess of Carnaby Street, the mistress of Georgian architecture and late night curry.’

Too Much drops on Netflix on July 10.
