Chicken Town trailer

New indie British comedy film starring John Shuttleworth creator Graham Fellows

Here’s a new trailer for indie British comedy Chicken Town, starring John Shuttleworth creator Graham Fellows as an unlikely drug dealer, as its   cinematic release as been announced.

The film – which will be out in UK cinemas on June 27 – also features cameos from Ghosts star Laurence Rickard  and comedian Alistair Green.

It tells the story of two schoolfriends played by newcomers Ethaniel Davy and Amelie Davies in a dead-end town in the East of England who join forces with a green-fingered grandad (Fellows) to fence a shed of weed that the old man has accidentally grown on his allotment.

Writer and director Richard Bracewell, who previously helmed the Horrible Histories comedy Bill, describes the film as ‘a story about the contradictions of modern family life; a film with both a heart and a conscience. If Greta Gerwig and Shane Meadows had a love-child we hope it might resemble Chicken Town.’

The young characters were cast for their feature-film debuts from The Television Workshop in Nottingham.

Earlier this month, Chortle revealed how Fellows was selling his Austin Ambassador Y-Reg, as immortalised in a Shuttleworth song.
