SNL on the first American Pope

Weekend Update with Michael Che and Colin Jost

Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che spoke about the first American in the role on Saturday Night Live last night.

Josh started by saying: 'As an American Catholic, I could not be more proud, which is a sin, and now I’m ashamed.

He later added: 'This pick was a welcome surprise for me because when I heard the pope was a super-religious guy from Chicago in a funny robe, I was worried it was Kanye.'

And he mocked those on the right who thought the Pope was 'too woke' for the role.

In other terms they spoke about the UK-US trade deal, air traffic controllers at Newark Airport losing contact with planes trying to land and Donald Trump's desire to reopen Alcatraz.
