Movie version of Tim Minchin's musical

Here's the first trailer for Matilda, the movie version of Tim Minchin and Dennis Kelly's hit stage musical.

The film – due out in cinemas on December 2 – stars Emma Thompson as the fearsome Mrs Trunchbull. 

Alisha Weir takes the title role, with Andrea Riseborough and Stephen Graham as her parents. Lashana Lynch plays Miss Honey and comedian Sindhu Vee is Ms Phelps. 

Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical is directed by Matthew Warchus, who had the same role on the theatre show.
