As Amazon confirms launch date

Amazon has released the trailer for new stand-up showcase Backstage With Katherine Ryan as it confirmed the launch date.

The five-part series – which features sets and green-room chat from top British comedians – will land on Prime Video worldwide on June 9.

Itw will also feature Ryan roasting the comedians  she  has just shared the  stage with at London’s Roundhouse venue.

The series features Frankie Boyle, Sara Pascoe, Judi Love, Ivo Graham, Jo Brand, Nish Kumar, Joel Dommett, Rosie Jones, Rob Beckett, Sue Perkins, Tom Allen, Michelle de Swarte, Jimmy Carr, Desiree Burch, Seann Walsh, Nick Mohammed, Sarah Millican, Joanne McNally, Russell Kane, Geoff Norcott and Darren Harriott.

Programme-makers Expectation say: ‘Join Katherine Ryan in her exposé of celebrity comedy life, revealing all the sordid secrets of what really goes on backstage at a stand-up show as host to the verified cream of the comedy crop. 

‘She's put cameras everywhere to reveal the nerves, the gossip, the preparation, the excitement, the camaraderie and the clashes.

‘Not only are we peeping behind the curtain, but we're also offering a rare insight into the writing process as we see Katherine and head writer Geoff Norcott pitch gloves-off roast jokes to each other.

‘Uncensored and unscripted, it's our nation's favourite comedians as you've never seen them before.’
