Simon Feilder – Original Review

Note: This review is from 2014

Review by Steve Bennett

Relative newbie Feilder certainly looks the part, with his electric-shock hairstyle, darting eyes and jumpy physicality.

His nervy, excitable, simmering energy is compelling to watch, and his winningly stupid manner, stays just the acceptable side of zany.

The performance is further lifted further by some nice little touches and subtle nuances that demonstrate a keen attention to detail.

Such larger-than-life presentation does have a slightly gimmicky feel to it, but it's undoubtedly enjoyable stuff, even if the material - a mixed bag of silly puns and oddball observations - isn't yet as consistently strong.
