Review by Steve Bennett

List of things that are good about this show:

  1. The offbeat lists pinned to the wall, giving us something to read as we wait for the show to begin
  2. The quirky and unique structure, presenting all the material in list form, eg 10 Alternative Ways To Start The Show, List Of Nations It’s OK To Be Racist About
  3. Matt Kelly, whose wide-eyed, puppyish enthusiasm easily rubs off of the audience, and who is gifted with great comic timing
  4. Richard Higgins, whose strict deadpan and lightly bullying demeanour is the perfect foil for Matt, in classic double-act formation
  5. The interaction between 3. and 4., which feels genuine, relaxed and just a little unpredictable, meaning proceedings border on anarchy without ever fully embracing it
  6. A nice sense of low-fi amateurism in the many props that litter the stage
  7. The following sketches, especially: the analysis of bad-stand up, the home-made James Bond title sequence, the fruity puns.

List of things that aren’t so good:

  1. Overegging some weak gags such as the double entendre on ‘coming’, even when done tongue-in-cheek, feels forced.
  2. A couple of very old gags, starting with the opening line
  3. Could be pacier. They’re already quite brisk, but sometimes get indulgent when the unique format would enable them to really crank out the jokes.
