Uncle Roger is now a dad
Comic Nigel Ng becomes a father
He’s long been an uncle - now comedian Nigel Ng has become a father.
The Malaysian stand-up – better known by his online alter ego Uncle Roger – made a post-Father’s Day announcement that his wife had given birth.
The 35-year-old married US-born lawyer Sabrina Ahmed in July 2025 and revealed in February that they were expecting their first child, writing: ‘New nephew coming soon.’
Yesterday he posted a photo of himself with his wife and their newborn, plus a close-up of all their hands.
He wrote: ‘And then there were three. After a week in the NICU [neonatal intensive care unit’, bringing you home today is the most special Father’s Day.’
Ng did not disclose the reasons for the baby’s stay at the unit, but thanked the doctors, nurses and staff at the California hospital.
And in reference to his online alter-ego’s predilection for flavour enhancer, he added: ‘Somewhere I hear my Uncle whispering, "put MSG on baby, it’ll be better baby, smarter’
Ng spends some of his time in the UK and opened a restaurant in London’s Chinatown, Kawan by Uncle Roger, last month. He also has a chain of fried rice restaurants, Fuiyoh! It’s Uncle Roger, in Malaysia.
