...and, yes, drink had been taken!
Alan Carr has admitted that he once fell into The Serpentine after getting drunk on ‘hallucinogenic tequila’.
The comedian’s plunge into the lake actually came the morning after his drinking session, when he was walking his dog in London’s Hyde Park
Speaking on his Life's A Beach podcast, the 49-year-old said: ‘I had tequila once… the hallucinogenic one.
‘And then I couldn't sober up, and I fell in The Serpentine. Pissed. My old dog, Bev, bless her, she dropped the ball in The Serpentine, and I went forward to pick it up. And I think all the tequila rushed to the front of my head, and I just fell in.
‘Then I was soaking wet. You know, in the films, the dog's meant to jump in and save you, but they were just wagging their tail for, "What's this pisshead done again?"
‘And I fell in, and then I was just soaking wet, and then I had to walk.’
He said his drenched appearance may have given children a fright, joking: ‘You know, when people are pulling their kids away, "Come away from the strange man," and all of that. Soaking wet, that's tequila for you.’
