Jimmy Carr: I only eat once a day

Comic admits he's ‘very conscious’ of his weight

comedyJimmy Carr says he only eats once a day  because he is ‘very conscious’ of his weight.

Speaking to his regular collaborator Katherine Ryan on her What’s My Age Again? podcast, he said: ‘I’m pretty body conscious as it is. I would say not like I think I’ve got an eating disorder, but I think I’m very conscious of weight, very conscious of staying sort of trim...

‘That’s probably, on balance, maybe not the healthiest. I think the sort of body dysmorphia  thing was always associated with women, with bulimia and anorexia.’

He said he hadn’t eaten on the day the podcast was recorded – and wouldn’t until the evening.

Part of the reason, he said, was because ‘I get tired if I eat pre-show’.

Carr, 53, was also candid about the cosmetic procedures he has undergone in the past, including filler, Botox, teeth veneers and a hair transplant

But despite his concerns about his Carr confessed to being partial to McDonald’s –especially on the road.

‘Because their hygiene system is the same globally,’ he said. ‘So sometimes if you’re somewhere, you don’t know what the good restaurant is in this crazy Eastern European town you find yourself in... You go, ‘Well, I know McDonald’s will be fine. I know I’ll be fine.’

He says he visits the Golden Arches ‘once every couple of weeks, I guess. Something like that. That sounds reasonable. The poison’s in the dose, I think with all of these things.’
