Bill joins Pete Doherty's band on stage

comedyBill Bailey joined Pete Doherty’s band Babyshambles on stage last night.

The comic welcomed the band onto the stage of Koko in Camden, North London, via a video message before appearing in person and saying: ‘Why have a VT when you can have the real thing?’

He then made a joke about Donald Trump and his supporters believing London to be a dangerous hotbed of crime.  ‘How are you doing tonight?,’ he asked the audience. ‘I know this is what the angry apricot would say is a no-go area.’

Various news outlets report that Bailey joked about a Lionel Richie-themed butchers called Halal Is It Meat You’re Looking For? before introducing the band.

Doherty’s former Libertines band-mate  Carl Barat also made a guest appearance.
