Prince Andrew: The Musical stripped of its honours

Channel 4 responds to events...

comedyChannel 4 has issued a statement saying that it has ‘initiated the formal process to remove the style, title and honours of Prince Andrew: The Musical’.

The broadcaster has announced that the 2022 spoof, written by and starring Kieran Hodgson alongside Emma Sidi, Munya Chawawa, Jenny Bede and Harry Enfield will henceforth be known as Andrew: The Musical.

In their tongue-in-cheek announcement, Channel 4’s press team said: ‘The programme’s lease on Channel 4 streaming has provided audiences with the opportunity to view this satirical comedy, depicting the well-documented and widely reported events in the life of a known British figure, now known simply as Andrew.

‘Formal approval has been served to allow the lease to be extended, and to allow audiences to continue to watch this programme for a peppercorn rent.

‘These censures are deemed necessary, in light of recent news and announcements from The Palace.’

It’s streaming here.
