Del Boy's naff cocktail bar could be yours...
Only Fools prop up for auction
Del Boy’s tacky cocktail bar from Only Fools And Horses has come up for auction.
The wraparound cream vinyl padded item was seen in the Trotters’ Peckham flat in several episodes of the sitcom.
It is going under the hammer at Fieldings Auctioneers in Stourbridge next Thursday with a guide price of £500 to £600 – although a similar item signed by star David Jason sold for £3,800 in 2012.
The one being auctioned next week was bought by an actor from the comedy’s prop coordinator when the BBC moved production from London to Bristol. It comes with a handwritten receipt from the seller dated January 1992 and describing it as: ‘Bar used on set of Only Fools and Horses’.
Fieldings’ co-director Will Farmer said: ‘For myself, to stand behind the bar was a moment of pure joy. Who wouldn’t want to own this?
‘If you think of Del Boy’s flat, you think of the bar. It should go into four figures comfortably.’
He added that the Italian-made bar ‘even lights up’, adding: ’It’s so naff that it’s fantastic.’
