Nigel Ng ties the knot

And now the wedding's a major feature in Vogue

comedyNigel Ng, the stand-up best known for his online Uncle Roger character, has got married – with his wedding featuring in Vogue.

The 34-year-old tied the knot in July, but posted a raft of pictures this weekend after the style magazine ran a gushing 2,500-word feature with the headline: ‘This three-day wedding celebration in Portugal artfully blended Malaysian and Bengali traditions’.

Ng was born in Malaysia while his new wife, Miami-based lawyer Sabrina Ahmed, has Bengali roots. The pair met in Miami at a corporate show Ng was performing for a luxury resort property developer, where Ahmed was corporate counsel.

She said she knew little about Ng  except ‘as a guy who jokes about rice', adding she later ‘realised he was hilarious and, beyond the glare of [Uncle Roger’s] orange shirt, actually very cute’.

He then popped up on her dating app and he flew her to Boston so they could meet in person.

She told Vogue: ‘I normally would never meet a guy I’ve barely spoken to in another state, but when my coworker blurted out, "I think he could be your husband," I, for some reason, didn’t fully write off the idea.’

That was in November 2022 and they got engaged in April 2024, before tying the knot in Sintra, Portugal.
