Tom Mayhew wins the smallest award on the Fringe

Of all the alternatives that sprang up to replace Dave’s Joke Of The Fringe,  the Pegasus Comedy Award must be the least impressive. 

The 1p prize is awarded to a gag not from this year’s show but a future one, and has been won by Tom Mayhew with the line from the year 3000

It was: ‘I’m looking forward to the release of the upcoming RoboDog 3000 - it turns out YOU CAN teach an old dog new tricks!’

Other criteria included the requirement that jokes must be submitted in the correct font, which was not specified.

Mayhew will will receive his prize at the Pegasus Comedy Awards late on Saturday night at the Counting House.

Earlier in the week, Andy Gleeks won the  (Some Guy Called) Dave Joke Of The Fringe award run by comic Will Mars.
