'What if we put eyes on Donald Trump's penis'
South Park creators reveal their negotiations with network execs
South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have revealed the debates they had with network bosses before depicting Donald Trump’s micropenis in this week’s episode.
Parker revealed their conversation with Comedy Central executives while speaking at Comic-Con yesterday.
He said: ’It’s always like, "so we love the episode…" but that’s what happened. They’re like, "OK, but we’re gonna blur the penis."
‘And I’m like, ‘No, you’re not gonna blur the penis.’"
Then Stone revealed the solution: ‘We put eyes on the penis.’
Parker said he told the network bosses: ‘If we put eyes on the penis, we won’t blur it. And then that was a whole conversation for about four fucking days. It’s a character."
The episode also made plenty of jokes at the expense of Comedy Central’s parent company Paramount, which has been accused of capitulating to a frivolous lawsuit Trump brought so a corporate merger could get the green light from regulators. South Park showed reporters from sister company CBS News too scared to say anything that might antagonise the President and trigger a lawsuit.
And Cartman underwent an existential crisis as the decline in liberal voices meant his personality was no longer being transgressive.
