Katherine Ryan is pregnant again
Comedian expecting her fourth child
Katherine Ryan has revealed she is pregnant with her fourth child.
The 41-year-old comic appeared at an SXSW event in London on Monday with a visible baby bump and subsequently confirmed the news to reporters.
She already has a son Fred, three, and daughter Fenna, two, with her husband Bobby Koostra, as well as 15-year-old Violet from a previous relationship.
Violet also referred to the news on her TikTok, with a video superimposing each of her siblings’ birth years on to their photos – and ‘2025’ positioned over mum’s belly – as way of pointing out the large age gap with her siblings
Ryan, 41, previously said she wanted a fourth child on her U+W reality TV show At Home With Katherine Ryan, telling the cameras: ‘Having children is not for everyone, but I personally really like making people. I think it’s a superpower, if you can do it.’
The comedian has also spoken about having three miscarriages in five years, the most recent being in September. Speaking on her Telling Everybody Everything podcast she said: ‘We lost another pregnancy in September at the beginning of the [Battleaxe] tour, which was fine, and then it was difficult, and then it became fine again. I’m totally fine about it now.
And she told OK! Magazine last year: ‘We’ve always gotten pregnant with the babies quite quickly. I’ve been pregnant five times in five years, but that also means I’ve had three miscarriages in five years and the likelihood of that increases as you get older.
‘You have to find a balance between what you can personally stand and risks you’re willing to take.’
