Lee Mack: Get me on Last One Laughing!
Comic says he'd love to take part in Prime Video series
As Amazon prepares to cast the next series of its game show Last One Laughing, one big name has thrown his hat into the ring.
Lee Mack says he would love to participate in the Amazon Prime Video show ‘because there’s nothing funnier than trying not to laugh.’
The comic threw his hat into the ring in an interview with today’s new edition of the Radio Times – whose cover he graces – to promote the return of Not Going Out.
Starting next Friday, the sitcom rolls the lives of lead characters Lee and Lucy, played by Sally Bretton, a few years on from the last, with the couple now empty nesters, with no children at home and ‘finding plenty of time to focus on each other’.
Mack also reveals a new change for the 14th season – with all the action taking place in real time.
‘What I’m trying to do is get the audience involved, to make them feel like they’re witnessing an event that’s happened. And hopefully that carries over when you’re watching at home,’ he told the Radio Times.
Many of the previous supporting cast – including Hugh Dennis, Abigail Cruttenden, Deborah Grant and Geoffrey Whitehead – are not regulars in the new series.
But Chortle can reveal that Mike Wozniak is making a guest appearance in next Friday’s episode, playing the seller of the house Lee and Lucy move into.
Last month it was revealed that a 15th series of the long-running show has also been commissioned for next year, marking its 20th anniversary.
• Not Going Out season 14 stars on BBC One on Friday June 13 at 9pm, and released as a box set on BBC iPlayer at the same time.
