Michael McIntyre’s £200k car towed
...right outside the Daily Mail offices
Michael McIntyre had his luxury sports car towed yesterday - right in front of the Daily Mail’s offices.
The newspaper duly ran pictures of the 49-year-old comic pleading his case as his £195,000 Mercedes-AMG GT R was hoisted on to the back of a tow truck.
The car had been clamped in Derry Street, just off Kensington High Street in West London.
A passer-by told The Sun: 'McIntyre’s car was being lifted. I walked past and said "unlucky". He just seemed to laugh it off and said "oh well".
"I think he may have been coming out of Dishoom [restaurant]. There was a load of builders all watching and filming the incident.
"McIntyre was trying to get them to put his car back down but he made sure he didn’t make too much of a scene given his audience. You could tell he was frustrated but kept himself calm.'
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea charges £280 to release a car from the pound, plus storage of £55 per day.
McIntyre is known for his love of cars and has been seen driving a Jaguar XK, a Range Rover and a £150,000 Ferrari California.
Hours after his car was towed he was seen at the opening of a new attraction: The Triwizard Tournament - Making of Champions at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in Hertfordshire.
