Comic vows never to try the watersport again

Jack Dee injured himself in a very intimate area when he tried kite surfing.

The 63-year-old comedian said: ‘I managed to get to a point where I was actually on the surfboard and had the kite in the air. But I wasn't on water, I was on the beach being dragged along.

‘My shorts got ripped off. I just scratched the whole of my groin area very badly. It was painful.’

Jack vowed never to kite surf again after the agonising incident, he tells Jonathan Ross on his ITV1 talk show airing at 9.20pm tomorrow.

And despite being used to public speaking as a comedian, he admitted he needed coaching in making speeches when it came to his daughter Phoebe's wedding. ‘People think I'm sarcastic,’ the deadpan stand-up explained.
