Have I Got News For You on Keir Starmer being 'glittered'

And the rest of the Labour conference

comedyHave I Got News For You discusses Keir Starmer being covered by glitter at the Labour conference in tonight's edition.

'The most exciting moment was Keir Starmer getting glittered,' said GB News correspondent Olivia Utley on the show.

'The protester – no one quite knows what he was actually protesting, as it was very long and complicated. He was still explaining it as he was being dragged past us.'

'I thought it was someone from Just Stop Strictly,' joked Ian Hislop, before adding that the stung looked 'rehearsed, because he’d ironed his shirt sleeves. Who does that unless they’re planning to take their jacket off...'

Once Starmer had brushed the glitter off his shoulders, he continued with his party conference speech, repeating his pledge that Labour would build 1.5million new homes.

The panel then discussed how they would be built not on the green belt or the brown belt, but what Labour are calling the 'grey belt'.

'It seems very Keir, doesn’t it?' said Armstrong. 'Keir Starmer wants to recreate the heady atmosphere of the new towns – the sunlit uplands of Stevenage, Crawley, Milton Keynes… can we remember any of the other new towns?'

But that turned out to be Paul Merton's specialist subject, as when he worked in the civil service he was in charge of the new towns scheme....

Have I Got News For You is on BBC One at 9pm tonight, with Miles Jupp the other guest
