Comic reveals how he was caught short on stage

‘Spending a penny’ just doesn’t cover it for Kevin Bridges – who has revealed a trip to the toilet once cost him £25,000.

It happened after the  comedian was on stage in Aberdeen – and felt a desperate need to go to the toilet.

‘I’d ate something which later proved to be dodgy,’ he reveals on this week’s episode There’s Something About Movies. ‘I hit this bit in the show when I was aware of my own stomach rumbling.

‘You’ve got that bit in your brain trying to calm yourself- and you’ve also got that bit in your brain trying to wind yourself up, "You’re going to shite yourself, you’re going to shite yourself live on stage."

‘Then I felt another rumble which was sort of last orders, and I could sense that I was sweating. I was in an arena so there’s big screens - HD quality - they are going to see beads of sweat.’

So he told the audience: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t feel too good… I’m going to take a little break - have a drink on me.’

‘That’s how desperate I felt,’ he told host Alan Carr and the rest of the panellists.

But his relief at making it to the toilet was short-lived when he suddenly realised what he had done in offering 5,000 people a drink

‘It was a £25,000 bowel movement,’ he notes…
