Revealed: The high cost of putting a seagull in your sitcom

comedyMost people would consider seagulls an unwelcome seaside intrusion.

 But trying to get one on camera cost the makers of BBC sitcom King Gary a cool £8,000.

Simon Day revealed the cost at a press screening of the opening episode of the forthcoming, prompting star and co-writer Tom Davis to joke: ‘The seagull was the best actor on the whole thing.’

And his name?  Steven Seagull, of course.
