'Mostly we talked about reading glasses...'

The stars of The Day Today have reunited to mark their 25th anniversary.

Armando Iannucci, Steve Coogan, Chris Morris, Rebecca Front, Doon MacKichan, Peter Baynham, David Schneider and Patrick Marber gathered for a private dinner

Schneider, who appears to have taken the picture as a selfie, tweeted: 'The Day Today, 25th anniversary dinner. We’ve lost the news.'

And Front replied: '25 years on and we all finally made it round the same dinner table. Mostly we talked about kids and reading glasses...'

The picture comes as Alan Partridge, who was first introduced to TV viewers on the show, is about to return to BBC One in a new series, This Time With Alan Partridge.
