Mirror reruns a 12-month old story... as if it were yesterday

Josh Widdicombe has embarrassed himself at the Royal Television Society Awards for the second year running, slumping drunkenly in a taxi after the bash.

At least that's if you believe the Daily Mirror, which this morning tried to shame the comic for his behaviour by inexplicably re-printing paparazzi shots from the 2017 awards and reporting the incident as if it happened last night.

But Last Leg fans were quick to point out that the photo of a tired and emotional Widdicombe is a running joke in the show.

So the Mirror performed a spectacular U-turn this afternoon – a 'reverse ferret' in newspaper slang – desperately editing the feature with a new angle.

So now the headline-grabbing news is that 'Josh Widdicombe was on his best behaviour as he left London's Grosvenor House Hotel'.
